Ten Commandments for Writers

Be yourself – another writer’s style is not your style

Read much and write much and read some more

Write from your experiences – people want to know your story

Collect data profusely – one day you will need it

Keep your eyes open – ideas are all around you

Proofread – your credibility rests on it

Excercise – sitting makes you dull

Write clean – garbage may sell but it doesn’t keep your mind and spirit pure

Don’t forget the little stuff; footnotes matter

Give credit where credit is due
